Who Are We?
We are human beings from an alternate Earth called, naturally, Earth. One of us, nicknamed Chaol, has been living on this Earth for a number of years. The other, nicknamed Metis, has only recently begun to visit.
You don't have to believe our story. In fact, we don't want you to. We'd rather you focus on finding out how useful Ecsys can be in your life.

How Our World Works
The world that we come from is Earth, but it is not the same as this one. There are many possible Earths, all following a different path. You move between possibilities all the time, even as you read this. Most are so minutely different that you dont notice a change at all. One world is very closely related to the next and the transition is smooth.
Some worlds, however, are very different and only related in some ways. People from one world use these related points to travel back and forth between worlds. These humans may appear as "alien"-type beings not because that's how they look to themselves but because your cognitive framework cannot process what they are. If you were to travel back in time to when you were 10 years old you would probably appear in a similar, alien-type fashion because the younger you would not be able to properly process what the older you has become.
Our world and yours began to diverge a few decades ago when we discovered a version of Ecsys Prime. (In our world we simply call it "X" or "point X".) We discovered how much perception plays in our understanding of the universe and ourselves. Scientists and other very educated people in your world continue to ignore the vital role that perception plays, so the differences between the worlds will become even greater in future.
Many of us in my world use both abstract and mechanical devices to free ourselves from our physical bodies. Your world calls it brain uploading or substrate-independent mind but haven't figured out how to do it because the science is different. Life in our "altagraph" is not the same for each person, similar to how people in your world can lead a different online life.
Aside from us not being human, consciousness not existing, and the fundamentality of perception, we have discovered other things you may find interesting. A machine or a piece of paper is just as human as your own body is. The tools we use and the world you live in are what "being human" is. Your body is itself a tool that you use, much like our sense of language we've evolved over hundreds of thousands of years.
When we consider that there is no real physicality, only relationships that seem real, nothing is artificial. For example, a computer is just a way to perceive, enhance, augment, and manipulate relationships. It is no more artificial than other tools like your heart, eyes, a river, or a galaxy.
In the field of perception, each is as real to your experience as you allow it to be.
In order to free yourself from your body we have only to copy or approximate the relationships that make up who you are. If, for example, a machine in a distant galaxy arranged particles in such a way that it copied the same "geometry" of your current relationships then you would experience something in that galaxy. When you dream pretty much the same thing happens. And you always experience any relative geometry in your reality, no matter how seemingly distant or impossible.
It doesn't matter what you use to create the relationships, as long as the relationship geometry is very similar to your own. When you arrange atoms in a familiar way you call it "you" or your world but you can do the same thing with letters, numbers, books, telephone wire, or corn, for example.

The Future
Is entirely up to you.
Your past/present/future is whatever you imagine it to be.
